If you haven’t yet, check out the Children's Mental Health Services Mapping Report released by The NJ Health Care Quality Institute.

Commissioned by the NJ Department of Children and Families, the report examines the landscape of mental health services for NJ children and youth and offers 17 recommendations for system improvement.

As the statewide collective of Care Management Organizations (CMOs) across New Jersey, NJCMO agrees that “nationally, New Jersey is a model for other states…”. NJCMO also supports changes that make the system easier for families to understand and use, improve overall access to appropriate care, improve coordination across systems, address workforce challenges, and make it easier for youth with the most complex needs to connect to needed services and resources.

We hope this report sparks continued strengthening of NJ’s youth mental health system. NJCMO would be happy to partner and support such improvements. Many thanks to the NJ Health Care Quality Institute and DCF for including us in the interviews and focus groups - we look forward to continuing to improve access and services for youth and families in NJ.
